Thursday, January 21, 2010 The Whited Sepulchre Although I wish to see some kind of socialized medicine in this country, I confess a wicked glee in watching the Mammon-idol of Ted Kennedy's corpse crash into the altar of health care reform in the whited sepulchre of the NPR liberals. It's salutary in a way. The triumphalism that buoyed Bush after 9/11, and helped produce the crimes and omissions of his presidency, wasn't significantly deflated until well into 2004. Men desire to have some share in the management of public affairs chiefly on account of the importance which it gives them.
